Photos by: @mmeh14 The events of Day of Ashura happened for Imam al-Husain and his family, in the battle with the army of tyranny Yazid led by Umar b. Sa'd on Muharram 10, 61/October 10, 680 in the land of Karbala which led to the martyrdom of Imam al-Husain, his companions. The rest of his caravan was also taken as captives. Every year as the month of Muharram arrives, Millions of believers around the world hold sessions of mourning for Imam al-Husain (a). The day of Ashura is the peak of the mourning.
